I loved the scenery on the glass ... the reflection's distortions did a surreal image ... it's like diving in a nostalgic scene.

 I had not noticed that before (the reflections). Adds a surreal moment to the nostalgic scene, doesn't it ?

A train museum opening for the season. Came there by accident. A very nice atmosphere and the guys running the place were very eager to play with their toys again :giggle:
But  indeed - they also were trying to set up a story about traveling in the old times by hiring one or two models sommerfrische by EintoeRn

I am thinking that you may be familiar with the expression...if so...

Wherever you "roll" to you'll find some magic.

Alright ! But to tell the truth. It often is hard work to find fodder  for the lenses and there also can be a lot of disappointment involved ...

This really looks like a still image from a movie!  We don't really have "classic" rail travel here in the US any more. . .
Great image! :)

really nice shot. i love how deep into the distance it goes, and the trainman hanging out. the reflections in the windows too. the whole shot is great!

the distance - yes i also love it that this comes out so nicely. truly nice atmosphere at the season opening of the museum train with nice spring weather.
they were so enthusiastic and happy that they were finally able to play again with their big toys :giggle:
also the driver HAD to be really careful as so many people were walking around the premises ...

a stunning image with a very special atmosphere. "cinematic" has been mentioned before... and that's it!
i particularly love the reflections and the perspective! but also the pose of the driver (?), the steam near the rails... ... ...
Bravo, dear!

it was a nice atmosphere about this season opening. very relaxed, and those enthusiastic people who keep the museum running were also in a very good spirit as finally after a long winter, they could "play" with their big train again :boogie:
and yes. thanks you. i am very happy with the perspective. so glad that the driver is in focus and also that we have this vanishing point with those bended tracks and some distant signs and informations.
it was a bit dark, so i have uploaded after a little re-editing. the drivers face can be seen now much clearer as well !
:cuddle:

Someone mentioned cinematic? This photo really has a pointing to the future using nostalgic overlays for  a good move, story book, something. Such great visual narrative.

Cinematic ! Yes, thanks ! I hadn't thought of it, but of course there is a certain atmosphere of a black and white movie from the 50ies or 60ies. Thanks for coming and and for your thoughtful comment, Heide :highfive:
