Please see also the wonderful poem by
which goes along with this picture:That Way He Said
That way, he said, go that way
Having no clear direction
I accepted the suggestion
And off I went, his way.
When I arrived I looked around
I stood still and checked my bearings
As in a wood finding a clearing
I turned around and around.
Not being what I expected
I backtracked to find him again
Surely you know what happened then
He wasn't there, just as I expected.
What if I stand very, very still?
Since time will not do the same
I'll have only myself to blame
If I find myself wandering still.
You, he, she: I'm tired of following
I'm old enough to stop asking
I'll point you to one last thing:
Dreams are the direction worth following.
