Well, this was in Boulogne on the French side. On a clear day you can actually SEE Dover across the channel, but certainly not from the old port area ;-)

"seven sisters" crosses from dieppe to newhaven which seems to take like 4 hours

The last time I drove down to Boulogne, it was teeming with English school kids, which gave the old town rather a hectic atmoshphere. I never really believed my son when he told me the teachers all sat in cafes, getting blotto, on these trips, but there they were, talking loudly about how stressful teaching is. The children were quite well behaved;)
