Through time I wonder whether there is some sort of conspiracy or agreement with the universe for what is to fall upon us. And then I keep wondering whether cursing the universe will follow with all the unnecessary consequences..!
Regardless, all I want to say is that Alalala..life is wonderful ! For all the beautiful simple inspiring moments.

Time for another feature! Please give these amazing artists the support they truly deserve! They are truly inspiring!

At first glance at the thumbnail, I thought it was a quarter-frame collage of four different photographs. But I thought to myself, "Hold; if that's one photo, it's going to be amazing." Sure enough, upon further examination, it was so. And what a wonderful piece you have here. Well done! :D

So many good things here! The filled frame - the color - the dark holes of the windows - and one regular hole! - and the antennae which are now outdated themselves but "new" compared to the buildings. Great shot, Ulrich!

Yes, indeed. First I was annoyed by the antennas, but then I also thought that they are sort of nostalgia topping the nostalgia

kind thanks, marianne. it was a bit frustrating that there was so little freedom to walk around for a better point of view, so all that could be done, was cropping. and yes, this sort of "nostalgic" toning seems to fit quite well.

thank you, dear. ad yes, the root of this town is certainly medieval [link]
used it as a starting point to explore some of the Loire castles a while ago and it came handy as a stopover place this time ....

Stopover on my way to the sea. City of Blois on the river Loire (with ALL the castles close by)
The city has a castle itself and a hill overlooking the roofs of the ordinary houses.
That gable on the right with those irregular limestones is my favorite !
(But the chimneys are not really bad as well :giggle:)

It's a beautiful image...and the chocolate coloration gives it such a sense of atmosphere.
And I agree on the irregular stonework (one of my favorite things in Italy as well), but it is the combinations - of stone, brick, plaster, shingle - and all of the angles and windows and chimneys, that make it such an entrancing composition.
Was this taken from an upper story of a building as well.:?
