Ha - I travel with a tripod, but I hardly ever use it. Most of the time I am not patient enough and rely on electronic image stabilzation

I am thinking of some long exposures of the actual flood for the January contribution for the newspaper contest. But I need a strong grey filter for that (which I do not have), and also that nasty cough has returned all of a sudden, dampening my initiative ...

The atmosphere in this is wonderful. This photo has that "I'm there" feeling - its not just a flat image on a one dimensional plain. The detail in the foreground is crisp and clear - but the background has a charming, almost surreal feel. I think the morning just has something to do with it. Great title too!

It is sort of a cliche, but getting up early for photography really gives good results ever so often.
