thank you marianne. i also like these parts of german highlands as they provide a lot of space for the eye rather than being steep and narrowish as they are so often ...

well, maybe those clouds are not so peaceful after all :giggle:
it was the day before the körperhüllen shoot. I remember now that it was rain for all the week and more rain forecasted for the weekend. with this in mind we were really lucky on that Saturday, we didn't spend more like 15 minutes or so waiting in the car for the rain to stop ...

sorry to disagree but I don't think that those clouds interfere with "my" sensation of peace, looking at that view :aww:
About that Saturday, you were lucky indeed...! and the results of the shooting were so rewarding! :camera:

Well I always though this would apply more to the East coast, like the Appalachian Range which has the same geological age and actually was very close when the Atlantic Ocean was closed in the Triassic. California is way younger in geological terms - mmmhhh

I would never argue with you geologically, Ulrich...I defer to your expertise.
But visually, the view is so very similar. :aww:

Nice balance of the three main areas of the picture - balanced though not equal in size. And I especially like that lighter cloud just above the hills.

Thank you, Richard. It was taken on my way to the Körperhüllen shoot.
I only wish that this big tree on the left was just a little bit smaller, or that I already had this stepladder with me which I used a lot when doing the Körperhüllen

That tree just did not cooperate
But yes of course, if you'd been raised a few feet you could have brought its top down. Very close to perfect, though.
