thanks for the compliment. it is a pretty dark piece imho - though the curve at the bottom gives us a little relief, maybe ...

I find the exterior metal louvres very intriguing. We have nothing like that here (at least on the west coast). Wooden shutters perhaps (mostly decorative), but nothing as sturdy and protective as these.
I feel like a voyeur, peering into the windows, trying to find signs of life. (Third window from the right, on the top - a pair of glowing eyes, peering back.) :eyes:

Thank you, Yvette.
When I was out there in Strasbourg (way beyond the places the tourists attach to) I was so happy to see this arch thing and a free view towards the building. Only when back home I realized how mysterious it is looking. Found your eyes, btw.

There is an artist here (lequark) who does a very fun series called "Little Monsters". I do believe the eyes in that window belong to one of his little monsters. :giggle:

Oh, this is wonderful, Ulrich. The sense of hidden meaning in the pattern of the different windows. As Laura said, you find the darnedest stuff!

In America we have the phrase "male answer syndrome" - a man ALWAYS has an answer!

And it's true... when my sons asked me questions I always came up with something. I even ask B, when she asks me a question, "Do you want me to admit I do not know, or do you want an answer?"
